Serving in the time of COVID-19

Dear Community Partners,

Although more in-person placements have been happening with risk management approval and community partner good COVID safety practices, students involved with Humboldt Service Learning and Academic Internship courses continue to request virtual service opportunities for both health and access reasons.  We thank Humboldt’s many community partner organizations and programs that have valiantly continued to offer a variety of virtual and safe in-person activities to students from these courses the past few years.

To share your service ideas and help faculty and students prepare for each semester, please connect with Stacy Becker (contact information below) for ideas, including the most recent Service Learning and Academic Internship opportunities survey link. Optimal times to share your opportunities are at the end of each semester (to prepare for the upcoming semester) and in the first few weeks of classes. However, opportunities are welcome any time!  As we are all adjusting to new online ways of doing business, the Center for Community Based Learning is here to assist, this semester and into the future.

Stacy Becker, Community Partner Coordinator, is available by email, Zoom and phone appointments to assist with community partner needs: stacy.becker@humboldt.edu, 707-826-4963. Please be well in health and solidarity!
